Why Israeli Banks Block Foreign Access
Israeli banks use IP-based geo-blocking as a first line of fraud defense. When they detect a login attempt from a foreign IP address, the system flags it as potentially suspicious — even if it's you.
This is especially common if:
- You haven't accessed the account from abroad before
- You're trying to approve a transfer or change account settings
- Your bank requires "strong authentication" and your Israeli phone number is no longer active
The result: you're locked out of your own money.
Which Banks Are Affected
All major Israeli banks geo-restrict access from outside Israel:
