Israeli VPN on OpenVPN: Setup on Computers, Phones and Routers

To connect to SuperStableVPN you use the free official OpenVPN app. After you sign up we email you a configuration file: import it, tap Connect, and you're ready to try your Israeli websites. Setup usually takes about 5 minutes, and there is no separate SuperStableVPN app to install. The same file works on all your devices at once and on any router that supports OpenVPN client connections.

What you need

• An account with your email and phone number confirmed. We issue your Israeli IP and email the configuration file as soon as both codes are confirmed.
• The configuration file (superstablevpn.ovpn). It arrives by email, and you can download it again from the Setup section of your account.
• The free OpenVPN client for your device. Your account links to it for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.

Set up on a computer or phone

1. Sign up and confirm the codes sent to your email and phone.
2. Download the configuration file from the email, or from the Setup section of your account.
3. Install the free OpenVPN client from the link in your account.
4. Import the configuration file into the client.
5. Connect.

Repeat steps 3–5 on every device you want to use. There is no limit on the number of devices.

Set up on a router

A router that supports OpenVPN client connections can load the same configuration file. Every device behind it, including ones that cannot run a VPN app themselves, then goes out through the Israeli IP with no per-device setup. Where to import the file depends on the router's make and firmware, so follow its documentation. If you get stuck, our support can help by phone, WhatsApp or email in Hebrew, English or Russian.

Check that it worked

1. With the VPN connected, open any IP-lookup site. The country should be Israel and the provider an Israeli internet provider (listed as an ISP), not a hosting company. Why that matters: Residential Israeli IP vs a regular VPN.
2. Open one of the sites that don't open from abroad, such as the Tax Authority site, misim.gov.il. In our check on 23 October 2026 it didn't open from abroad, so it is a good test: it should load with the VPN on.

Common problems

• The file won't download, or says your access is not active. The file only connects while your trial or subscription is active. After the trial ends, the same file starts working again the moment you subscribe, so there is nothing to set up twice.
• The file is still being generated. Right after sign-up it can take a few minutes. Check back shortly.
• Connected, but an Israeli site still doesn't open. Note the exact error and see An Israeli website says "access denied", or tell support. Not every error is about your IP.
• The SMS code doesn't arrive. Codes go to the phone number on file with each service: to receive SMS codes you will also need an Israeli phone number. See SMS codes from Israel abroad.

Your profile and your data

Every customer gets their own VPN profile with a personal certificate instead of a shared password. Don't share the file: it lets anyone connect as you. When your subscription ends, the profile is switched off.

All your devices go out through the same static IP from a range of Israeli residential addresses (not a hosting range), and it is the same every time you connect. The tunnel to our server in Israel uses AES-256-GCM encryption. We keep no logs of the sites you visit, your DNS lookups or the contents of your traffic; we keep a record of the connection sessions themselves (when they started and ended, the address they came from and the amount of data) for support and abuse prevention, and delete it after 90 days.
