Israel Post Website Not Loading Abroad? How to Track a Parcel and Get a Registered Letter

The Israel Post website doesn't open from abroad, and that is what we saw in our check on 23 October 2026. With it go parcel tracking, the personal area and the online forms. Through SuperStableVPN, with an Israeli IP, the site opened. Below is what people usually need from Israel Post while they're abroad and their family, or their mail, is still in Israel.
Test the Israel Post site with an Israeli IP: free for 3 days, no credit card required. After that it's 17 CAD a month (about ₪36), taxes included, and only if you choose to subscribe. You'll need the free OpenVPN app: we send you a configuration file and instructions, you connect and open the Israel Post site. There's no separate app of ours to install.
What you need from Israel Post while abroad
All of this is according to Israel Post (contact and FAQ, in Hebrew):
- Tracking a parcel to or from family: enter the tracking number on the tracking page, which also shows whether customs duty is owed. If a parcel is about to go back to a sender abroad, Israel Post can hold it on the tracking number.
- Collecting a registered letter. If it couldn't be delivered, it waits at the post office named on the notice, from the following day, for up to 14 days. You collect it with the notice and an ID; cash on delivery is cash only (Israel Post, in Hebrew).
- Sending a relative instead. They need a signed power of attorney on Israel Post's form, the notice, and both of your original IDs.
- An SMS instead of the paper slip. Registered letters and parcels can be released against an SMS notice and an electronic signature.
- Mail forwarding (doar okev) covers only mail sent within Israel, for permanent moves, in 6-month periods, without parcels and not to a PO box. Israel Post says nothing about forwarding to an address abroad.
How the login works
Tracking, according to Israel Post, works with the tracking number. The personal area takes an ID number or email with a password, Google or Apple, or a one-time code to your mobile (Israel Post, in Hebrew). If you log in with a password or with Google or Apple, you apparently don't need an Israeli number; Israel Post doesn't say whether it accepts a foreign one.
What you can do without the website
From public sources — Israel Post contact page, Israel Post public complaints commissioner, in Hebrew:
- WhatsApp: 052-9485145, the practical route from abroad.
- Phone 171: Sun 08:00–17:00, Mon–Thu 08:00–16:00, Fri 08:00–12:00, Israel time. 171 is an Israeli short code; Israel Post doesn't publish a number for calling from abroad.
- Fax: 076-8879013.
- Complaints commissioner (נציב תלונות הציבור): once customer service has handled your request and you have a case number, use the "צור קשר" form on the site with the topic "נציב פניות ציבור", or fax 076-8870010.
- The "חברת דואר ישראל" app, for tracking parcels and changing your address; we haven't checked which countries' app stores list it.
Israel Post doesn't publish an email or postal address for customer requests on these pages.
How to get in with an Israeli IP
- Sign up for SuperStableVPN: 3 days free, no credit card required. Install the free OpenVPN client on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android or Linux and import the configuration file we send you (setup).
- Connect and check that an IP-lookup site shows Israel.
- Open israelpost.co.il or the tracking page and enter the tracking number.
Ours is a static IP from a range of Israeli residential addresses. Sites flag such addresses less often than a regular VPN's datacenter ones, though no site promises to accept them (residential IP vs a regular VPN).
What a VPN doesn't fix
- A registered letter is still collected in person, by you or a relative with a power of attorney.
- Forwarding to an address abroad isn't described by Israel Post; that's a question for Israel Post, not for your IP.
- Other services closed from abroad are in the table of 106 Israeli websites.

Do I need an account to track a parcel on the Israel Post site?
According to Israel Post, you just enter the tracking number; it doesn't mention logging in. But the site itself didn't open from abroad in our check, so without an Israeli IP tracking doesn't work either.
Can a relative collect a registered letter for me?
Yes. According to Israel Post, they need a signed power of attorney on Israel Post's form, the notice, and the original IDs of both of you, the recipient and the person collecting. The letter is held for up to 14 days from the first notice.
How do I contact Israel Post from abroad?
Israel Post doesn't publish a number for calling 171 from abroad. WhatsApp on 052-9485145 or the online inquiry form are the practical routes.
