Clalit Online Not Loading Abroad? How to Get Into Your Medical File

Clalit Online won't open from abroad? That is what we saw too: in our check on 23 October 2026 the login page opened from Israel, but not from abroad. Through SuperStableVPN, with an Israeli IP, it opened. Clalit itself says access to the personal medical file is open only in some countries (Clalit, in Hebrew). To receive SMS codes you will also need an Israeli phone number.

Test Clalit Online with an Israeli IP: free for 3 days, no credit card required. After that it's 17 CAD a month (about ₪36), taxes included, and only if you choose to subscribe. You'll need the free OpenVPN app: we send you a configuration file and instructions, you connect and open Clalit Online. There's no separate app of ours to install.

What you need in the account after a move

  • A medical information summary: current diagnoses, allergies and medications. You request it from your own doctor online, it appears in Clalit Online and the app, and the digital version is free (Clalit, in Hebrew). For what else to bring a new doctor, see Israeli medical records for a doctor in Canada.
  • A summary in English. Clalit's online doctors can issue one for local doctors; it waits in your personal medical file in Clalit Online (Clalit, in Hebrew).
  • Lab and imaging results, Form 17, refunds and your payment method. A Form 17 (the fund's payment commitment) printed from Clalit Online is valid without a doctor's signature or the clinic's stamp.

How the login works

The login page offers two ways in: a user code and password, or a one-time code. The one-time code arrives by SMS or a phone call to the mobile Clalit has on file after you enter your ID number, and it is valid for 5 minutes (Clalit, in Hebrew). The app also lets you log in with a fingerprint or face recognition. Your phone, email and address can be changed in Clalit Online, in the app or at your clinic. Clalit doesn't say whether a foreign number can receive the code; if it still has an Israeli SIM you no longer use, update the number while the codes still reach you.

What you can do without the website

From public sources — Clalit call centre, Clalit online doctors for members abroad, Clalit public inquiries, Clalit medical file copies (all in Hebrew):

  • WhatsApp: 050-9462700 — all of Clalit's services on one number.
  • Call centre: *2700 or 03-9405350 from Israel. Members abroad call +972-3-6333333 (03-6333333 in Israel); it routes to *2700, and the online doctors can be reached through it too. *2700 is an Israeli-only number. The call centre runs 7 days a week; phone appointment booking is Sun–Thu 07:00–20:00, Fri 07:00–13:00.
  • Technical support for Clalit Online and the app: say "תמיכה טכנית" (technical support) at the call centre or send the form on the website; Sun–Thu 07:00–01:00, Fri 07:00–13:00, Saturday from about an hour after Shabbat ends until 01:00.
  • Online doctors for members abroad: family doctor +972-3-6281567 (daily 08:00–23:00, including Shabbat and holidays), paediatrician +972-3-5688597 (24/7), dermatologist +972-3-5688897 (Sun–Thu 08:00–22:00, Fri 08:00–13:00). A representative calls you back to set up the call with a doctor. Clalit says you must call from a smartphone with an Israeli number.
  • Complaints (public inquiries, פניות הציבור): WhatsApp 050-9452700 or the online form (after logging in). Each Clalit district and hospital has its own public inquiries unit with its own fax and postal address, listed on the public inquiries page. A district's or hospital's answer can be appealed to the head office's public inquiries commissioner (נציבות פניות הציבור).
  • A copy of your medical file. For community clinics it is requested through the Mor Institute, for hospitals from the hospital itself. Computerised records from the last 5 years cost ₪10 (Clalit, in Hebrew). The Mor Institute (Clalit's records department): phone 03-5772789, from abroad +972-3-5772789, Sun–Thu 8:30–11:30, then choose your district; email [email protected]; fax 03-6907087, from abroad +972-3-6907087; post: מחלקת תיעוד ורשומות, שירותי בריאות כללית במור, רחוב ז'בוטינסקי 7, Bnei Brak 5110802.
  • The app. The main "כללית" app was listed only in the Israeli App Store, not in the other countries' stores we looked at. We didn't check Google Play.

Clalit doesn't publish a general customer email or a general fax on these pages.

How to log in with an Israeli IP

  1. Sign up for SuperStableVPN: 3 days free, no credit card required. Install the free OpenVPN client on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android or Linux and import the configuration file we send you (setup).
  2. Connect and check that an IP-lookup site shows Israel.
  3. Open Clalit Online (e-services.clalit.co.il). If you get the login form, the connection is sorted.

Ours is a static IP from a range of Israeli residential addresses. Sites flag such addresses less often than a regular VPN's datacenter ones, though no site promises to accept them (residential IP vs a regular VPN).

Frequently asked questions

Does Clalit itself say there's no access from abroad?

Clalit's page on online doctors for members abroad says access to the personal medical file is open in some countries, in line with its data-protection policy. It doesn't say which. In our check, the login didn't open from abroad.

How do I get a medical summary in English?

According to Clalit, its online doctors can issue a summary in English for local doctors; it appears in your personal medical file in Clalit Online. The regular medical information summary is requested from your own doctor online and is free in digital form.

Does the Clalit app work abroad?

On 23 October 2026 the main "כללית" app was listed only in the Israeli App Store; we didn't check Google Play. If the app is already on your phone, the OpenVPN client sends all of the device's traffic through the Israeli IP, apps included.
